Mumbai: CDSL Investor Protection Fund (IPF) has launched a multilingual investor education film in collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha, aimed at simplifying financial planning and investment concepts for investors across India. The initiative uses storytelling and animation to make key principles of informed and disciplined investing more accessible to audiences across age groups and geographies.
Titled The Garden of Prosperity, the animated film follows Akbar and Birbal as they guide a newly married couple on how to make informed use of their wedding gifts by investing them wisely. Using the analogy of nurturing a garden, the film explains concepts such as goal-based investing, diversification across financial goals, matching investments with different time horizons and maintaining an emergency fund.
The film is available in 12 languages — English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia and Assamese — with the aim of reaching investors across both urban and rural markets. Through its narrative-led approach, the initiative seeks to encourage disciplined financial planning and informed participation in the securities market.
Speaking about the initiative, Sudhish Pillai, Head, CDSL IPF Secretariat, said, “At CDSL IPF, we believe financial education is most effective when complex concepts are communicated through simple, relatable stories. By combining the timeless wisdom of Akbar and Birbal with practical lessons on financial planning, this multilingual film makes investing easier to understand for people across age groups and geographies. Through engaging formats such as films and comics, we hope to encourage investors to adopt goal-based investing, prepare for the future with confidence and participate in the securities market in an informed and responsible manner.”
The film builds on CDSL IPF’s collaboration with Amar Chitra Katha, which includes a series of investor education comics using familiar characters and narratives to explain financial concepts. The series features titles including The Unofficial Ustaad and The Golden Peacock Fraud, further extending financial literacy efforts across different age groups and regions.
Through its investor awareness initiatives, CDSL IPF continues to focus on strengthening financial literacy and encouraging individuals to become informed and responsible participants in the securities market under its #AtmanirbharInvestor initiative.
