Mumbai: Early.Partners has launched KYC (Know Your Customer), a three-week customer research sprint aimed at helping direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands understand their customers beyond the data available through dashboards and analytics platforms.
As D2C brands expand across marketplaces, quick commerce platforms and their own websites, they have access to growing volumes of customer data, including purchase behaviour, buying channels, frequency and spending. However, understanding who their customers are and what drives their decisions can remain a challenge.
Early.Partners said its KYC sprint is designed to bridge this gap by combining direct customer conversations with behavioural analysis and actionable brand recommendations. Over three weeks, the programme covers customer recruitment and interviews, analysis of behaviours and motivations, and translation of findings into actions across positioning, communication, product and growth.
The sprint is targeted at D2C brands that have moved beyond founder-led decision-making but may not yet have a dedicated consumer insights function. Rather than developing conventional demographic profiles or customer personas, KYC focuses on identifying the motivations and behaviours behind customer choices.

Meghana Bhat, Co-founder, Early.Partners, says, “If you go looking for what’s not working, you’ll find no shortage of opinions. And it’s impossible to act on all of them. Instead, talk to customers who are already choosing you. Understand what they value, why they choose you and what makes them come back. Then double down on what’s working. That’s what Early’s KYC’s objective is: finding the signals that matter and turning them into growth.”
Bhat adds, “There’s a point in a company’s journey where the founder can no longer be the proxy for the customer. That doesn’t mean intuition stops being valuable. It means you need to complement it with evidence from the people actually buying and using your product.”
KYC has been developed in-house at Early.Partners and forms part of the wider strategy and brand-building work undertaken by the company for early-stage and growing businesses. The customer insights generated through the sprint are intended to directly inform subsequent brand and marketing decisions.
The first KYC cohort is scheduled to close on September 25, 2026. Through the initiative, Early.Partners aims to help D2C brands move beyond understanding what customers purchase to identifying the factors that influence their choices and drive repeat behaviour.
