Mumbai: ZEE Marathi is bringing its new brand philosophy, ‘Paaul Pudhe Padlay… Jamlay!’, to life through stories and experiences that reflect a Marathi identity that is rooted in culture, yet confident about moving forward. The philosophy, centred on progress, possibility and the courage to move beyond the familiar, is finding expression on ground through two significant milestones achieved by its shows ‘Tarini’ and ‘Home Minister’.
‘Tarini’ an undercover cop, has built its narrative around courage, and the pursuit of justice. The character has now stepped into a larger national-security mission through ‘Operation Tiranga’. As part of the storyline, the show travelled to Amritsar and became the first Marathi show to shoot at the Attari-Wagah Border, bringing a significant real-world setting into Marathi fiction. The mission sees Tarini working to uncover a conspiracy while keeping her identity hidden and eventually taking on a new identity as ‘Salma’. This milestone reflects the show’s movement beyond familiar storytelling spaces, bringing scale, ambition and new experiences to Marathi television while retaining the emotional core of its protagonist.
Meanwhile, ‘Home Minister’, hosted by Aadesh Bandekar, has been a part of Maharashtra’s television landscape for two decades. More than just a television programme, the show has built a strong connection with women and families across Maharashtra and India by celebrating their stories, achievements and everyday lives.
Over its 20-year journey, the show has travelled nearly 25 lakh kilometres, reached thousands of households and presented approximately 7,500 Paithani sarees to women through the game show ‘Home Minister’. The programme has also become synonymous with Aadesh Bandekar’s affectionate identity as Maharashtra’s ‘Bhauji’.
Marking the launch of its new chapter, ‘Home Minister’ created another milestone when more than 2,500 women gathered in Kolhapur to perform the traditional aushakshan for the host Aadesh Bandekar. The collective celebration was recognised by the World Records Book of India. The moment brought a familiar Maharashtrian tradition to a larger platform, turning an expression of affection and respect into a celebration of collective participation.
Home Minister premieres its new chapter on 31 August at 6 PM, while Tarini: Operation Tiranga airs Monday–Friday at 9:30 PM, on ZEE Marathi.
