Mumbai: Humans of Bombay has evolved into The Human Company, marking the next phase of its business after more than a decade of building a digital storytelling platform in India. The new structure brings strategy, creative, production, original intellectual properties (IPs) and distribution together under one roof.
Over the past 12 years, Humans of Bombay has published more than 7,000 stories covering different geographies, generations and walks of life, while building a community of more than 7 million people.
The company said the evolution reflects the changing nature of digital storytelling and content consumption, with audiences increasingly engaging with podcasts, films, creators and short-form video alongside traditional formats.
What began as a storytelling platform has expanded into a business that works with brands across the creative journey, from developing strategic insights and ideas to content creation, production and distribution. The Human Company has been structured to integrate these capabilities and reduce the traditional gaps between strategy, creative execution and audience distribution.
The company currently works with brands including AWS, Samsung, HSBC, Myntra and Zomato, among others.
Commenting on the evolution, Karishma Mehta, Founder & CEO of The Human Company, said, “Humans of Bombay began with a simple belief – that stories can change the way people see the world. Over the last twelve years, that belief led us somewhere unexpected. Beyond building a storytelling platform, we built a company that helps ideas become movements, brands become part of culture, and stories create lasting impact.”
As part of the next phase of growth, The Human Company has also strengthened its leadership team. Amit Sobti has been elevated as Chief Operating Officer, while Jasleen Kaur Gupta has been elevated as Chief Creative and Strategy Officer.
Humans of Bombay will continue to operate as the company’s flagship storytelling platform, while The Human Company will focus on expanding its broader business across content, media, original IPs and brand solutions.
The company’s full-stack model is aimed at enabling brands to take ideas from initial strategy and creative development through production and distribution, as it seeks to build a broader presence in India’s evolving digital content and brand solutions ecosystem
