Gurugram: IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company Limited (IFFCO-TOKIO) has appointed Tatsuya Fujimoto as its Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective September 2, 2026.
Fujimoto brings 28 years of experience with Tokio Marine Group, including 18 years in Japan across marketing, corporate planning and as Executive Secretary to the Group CEO, and 10 years across international markets including the US, Malaysia and India.
He has previously held multiple responsibilities across underwriting, business transformation, customer analytics and customer experience strategy. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making and branding.
Fujimoto has also previously served at IFFCO-TOKIO GIC as Senior Executive Director – Chief Risk Officer from November 2024 to June 2025, before taking over as Director-Operations. Prior to joining India, he served as Deputy CEO of the First Insurance Company of Hawaii.
An alumnus of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Fujimoto holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Keio University, Japan, and is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).

The leadership transition comes as IFFCO-TOKIO looks to scale its operations, expand its footprint and drive sustainable growth. Fujimoto’s experience across global insurance markets and familiarity with the company’s operations are expected to support its focus on operational excellence, customer-centricity and innovation.
