Commenting on the findings, Pankaj Krishna, Founder & CEO, Chrome DM, said, “Lock Upp and Alliance give us a rare like-for-like read. Two reality formats premiered a day apart, ran six weeks in parallel, and closed in the same week, which means a single measurement window captures both at their peak. Lock Upp recorded 18.40 Mn and Alliance 15.38 Mn. What interests us more than the gap is what the two share. Both drew female-majority audiences, both peaked in the F 18–24 cohort, and both saw Maharashtra lead state-wise. That consistency suggests the reality genre on streaming has a well-defined core audience in India, and that format choice moves the scale of reach rather than its shape.”
The comparative analysis indicates that while Lock Upp S2 delivered a higher overall reach, both reality formats displayed similar audience characteristics, including female-majority viewership, strong traction among younger audiences and Maharashtra emerging as the top state market.
