Mumbai: The Estée Lauder Companies and its iconic brand M·A·C Cosmetics have announced the appointment of Nicola Formichetti as Global Creative Director, effective May 19, 2025. Widely recognized as a visionary force in the worlds of fashion, music, and culture, Formichetti brings over two decades of creative innovation to lead M·A·C’s global creative strategy.
In his new role, Formichetti will report directly to Aïda Moudachirou-Rébois, Senior Vice President and Global General Manager, M·A·C Cosmetics. His mandate includes shaping the brand’s creative vision across campaigns, product packaging, social media, and immersive retail experiences, while also driving creative collaborations and consumer engagement at a global scale.

Best known for his creative collaborations with global pop icon Lady Gaga, as well as his leadership at major fashion houses, Formichetti is also celebrated for breaking boundaries in trendsetting, inclusivity, and digital creativity. His past work with M·A·C includes the Nicopanda collection and the M·A·C VIVA GLAM campaign.

Formichetti’s multicultural background—born to Japanese and Italian parents—fuels his unique creative lens, aligning closely with M·A·C’s founding values of diversity and inclusion. He will lead a multidisciplinary creative team, driving the brand’s mission to serve “All Ages, All Races, All Genders.”
