Mumbai: Legal artificial intelligence company Lexlegis.ai has appointed Mahendra Chaturvedi as Senior Vice President – Sales, as the company looks to expand its enterprise business and strengthen customer engagement across the legal sector.
Chaturvedi joins Lexlegis.ai from LexisNexis, where he served as Director – Sales from April 2018. He brings around 30 years of experience in India’s legal information and publishing sector, with expertise spanning institutional, channel and enterprise sales.
He began his career in the sector at LexisNexis in August 2003 as Regional Manager – Sales (India), a role he held until September 2006. He subsequently spent more than a decade at Thomson Reuters, joining as Assistant Sales Manager in November 2006 and progressing through roles including National Sales Manager and Senior Sales Manager before becoming Assistant Vice President – Sales in March 2013.
In April 2017, Chaturvedi moved to Newgen KnowledgeWorks as Assistant Vice President – Sales, before returning to LexisNexis in April 2018. He has been based in the Delhi region for most of his career.
At Lexlegis.ai, Chaturvedi will lead the sales function and customer engagement across law firms, in-house legal teams, professional services firms and institutional users. He will also focus on building the company’s field sales organisation as it expands its enterprise business.
The appointment comes as Lexlegis.ai expands from a legal research platform towards a broader set of operational legal products. Its platform currently comprises three core modules — Ask, Interact and Draft. Ask is designed to answer legal questions using a curated library of Indian statutes, judgments and circulars, with responses linked to underlying sources. Interact works with uploaded case files to generate summaries, chronologies and clause comparisons, while Draft produces first drafts of legal documents.
In April 2026, the company introduced MIRA (Machine Intelligence and Reasoning Assistant), a configurable agent product that brings together the platform’s capabilities into defined skills that customers can assemble based on their functions. MIRA is currently available in beta as a hosted service, with on-premise and desktop deployment options available on request.
Lexlegis.ai traces its data lineage to 1998, when its founding team launched a search engine covering income tax and allied tax decisions. Work on a large-scale judgment database began in 2004, followed by the development of the National Judicial Reference System for the Government of India in 2014.
The Lexlegis.ai platform was launched in 2025, and the company has also said it is extending its coverage to United States case law.
