Chennai: Ramesh Rangarajan has been elected Chairman of Kasturi and Sons Ltd., the holding company of The Hindu Group Publishing Private Ltd. (THGPPL), publishers of The Hindu, BusinessLine, Frontline and Sportstar, among other publications and subsidiaries.
Rangarajan is the son of the late S. Rangarajan, former Chairman of Kasturi & Sons Ltd. He joined The Hindu Group soon after graduating from Loyola College, Chennai, and served as Deputy General Manager before joining the Board of Directors of Kasturi & Sons Ltd.
He brings extensive experience across the advertising and circulation functions of the news media business. His elevation comes as Kasturi and Sons continues to oversee the wider business interests of the group and its publishing operations.
Besides his role at Kasturi and Sons, Rangarajan serves on the boards of Sporting Pastime India Ltd., Hindcorp Resorts Pvt. Ltd. and Kasturi Estates Pvt. Ltd. He is also an Independent Director on the Board of MRF Ltd.
With his experience across media operations, advertising and circulation, Rangarajan’s appointment strengthens the leadership of the company that anchors The Hindu Group’s publishing businesses.
