Chennai: Pongal is a much awaited festival of Tamil Nadu. This harvest festival is celebrated with religious fervour in our state. This festival is celebrated with the hope that this “Thai” month will usher in good fortunes and people are seen go agog with joy during these celebrations.
Vijay TV in-fact set its audience with the festive mood of Pongal celebrations well in advance by launching an exclusive promo song that reflects the culture and heritage of the Harvest Festival of Tamils.
The Song was shot in exotic locations with excellent visualisation. Various sequences were shot and graphically in scripted with Vijay TV’s logo in such way to connect the audience with Pongal Mood and the Channel’s Special Programs scheduled during this Pongal Festival days.

7 .00 A.M : THARAI THAPPATAI special: On the joyous occasion of Pongal, expectations rise to heights for the cast and crew of the movie Tharai Thappatai on the release date of the movie. Director Bala and the lead actors Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar share their experiences of the movie during an exclusive promotional show for the movie.
8.00 A.M: MUDHAL MARIYADHAI –SALUTE TO THE INDIAN ARMY: By fighting against all odds, our brave soldiers are guarding our country. So they always richly deserve our salutes and respects. Over and above that we are duty bound to show our sympathies to those martyrs who have laid down their lives in fighting against the enemies, in pursuit of preserving the boundaries of our motherland. 9.00 A.M: NEEYA NAANA SHOW:SPL- AJITH & VIJAY For years, the debate of who is superior Ajith and Vijay between has been making it to tea time discussions. 06.00 P.M: 10 ENDRATHUKULLA: An action packed movie of Vijay Milton would see actor Samantha adorning dual role for the first time in a movie. Actor Vikram plays the lead role in the movie.
16TH JANUARY :MATTU PONGAL CELEBRATIONS
The third day of the Pongal festival is celebrated as Mattu Pongal and the day is dedicated to the cows. Wishing a happy Mattu Pongal to all our dear viewers.
