Mumbai: Amazon today announced the premiere of internationally acclaimed movie The Salesman – exclusively streaming on Amazon Prime Video on May 15. Directed by multi-award winning director, Asghar Farhadi, the movie created ripples across the globe by bagging some of the biggest awards this year including Best Foreign Language Film of the year at the Academy Awards 2017, along with various others wins and recognition at Cannes Film Festival 2017, Asian Film Awards 2017, Golden Globes 2017, and many more.
The Salesman narrates the tale of Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti), a young couple living in Tehran who are forced to move into a new apartment after their old flat becomes damaged. Unaware of the fact that the previous tenant had been a woman of ill repute having many clients, they settle down. By a nasty turn of events one of the clients pays a visit to the apartment one night while Rana is alone at home taking a bath and the aftermath turns the peaceful life of the couple upside down.
