Great Kerala Shopping Utsav Campaign; Logo launched with Mammooty

Cochin: The idea of launching a new shopping season: the Great Kerala Shopping Utsav (GSKU) is the best instance of the Power of Media driving a social change in a market by inflicting positive sentiments in the people mind and bringing festive feelings with seasonal offers that was missed out during Onamseas on due to the devastating floods.

As mark of Kick-starting the campaign for the GKSU, the official logo of the Mega shopping festival has been released by the Malayalam superstar Mammootty in presence of Senior Media Professionals Satish Kumar Dhan from Sun TV Network, PR Satheeesh from MMTV, Kamal Krishnan PS from Mathrubhumi, Varghese Chandy from MalayalaManorama, ReghuRamachandran from Asianet Communications, Unnikrishnan B K from Asianet News Network, Balagopal B from Malayalam Manaorama. While releasing the logo, Actor Mammooty lauded the efforts taken by the media fraternity to revive the Kerala market. The Great Kerala Shopping Utsav will start on 15th November and close on 16th December 2018.

The media companies in Kerala will use all the media vehicles to their disposal to recreate the shopping festival by providing advertisement space worth Rs 25 crore across all media platforms free of cost to promote GKSU. They will promote it through editorial columns and special coverage as well.

GKSUgives yet another opportunity for Malayal is to enjoy the festive offers. The shopping festival will spur the economy activity in the state, which is the best way to rebuild Kerala by help the government of Kerala to increase its tax revenue.

Shouldering the responsibilities with Media and Broadcaster Networks, Retailers and brands across the country will come out with Special offers during this period. On its part, the government, along with Kudumbashree, is facilitating a bank loan of Rs 1 lakh per person to those who have been affected by the floods. This is primarily to buy goods that have been lost during the floods. An amount close to Rs 1,000 crore is expected to come into Kerala market.

The highlight of GKSU will be a mega raffle hosted by the media companies for the shoppers of GKSU. Every person who makes a purchase of Rs 1,000 and more during the period of GKSU from GST registered establishments can participate in the raffle, by sending a copy of the bill via WhatsApp to a specific number which will be announced soon. Lucky shoppers get to win prizes worth Rs 4 crore, ranging from a flat worth Rs 1 crore to more than 750 daily prizes, including gift vouchers, gift hampers and appliances.

The Indian Newspaper Society (INS), Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), Association of Radio Operators of India (AROI), Kerala Merchants Chamber of Commerce, Dealers Association of TV and Appliances (DATA), The Supermarkets Association of Kerala, and Retailers’ Association of India have extended their support to this initiative.
