Network18 may rope in Palki Sharma to build a multi-platform video project. The group might soon launch a big-ticket Multi-Platform video initiative.
The news network is said to be in advanced talks with Palki Sharma Upadhyay, who’s likely to lead the new initiative for the group.
As per sources close to Medianews4u.com, Sharma, who recently quit as managing director of WION news channel, could join network18 soon.
Though there’s still no official confirmation from network18, Sharma will be building a new multi-platform video product from scratch.
Sources added that the upcoming product, likely to be led by Sharma, will redefine the news genre in India. As per the sources, the discussions regarding the same are in advanced stage. The announcement in this regard from Network18 group is expected any moment.
Sharma commanded a great respect from the audience with her unique stories and style of reporting. She was the face of WION and her sudden exit from WION disappointed many of her followers and evoked huge response on social media platforms. With over two decades of experience in the media world, Upadhyay has worked with Network18, iTV Network, Hindustan Times, and Doordarshan.
