Binny Bansal-Backed Opptra sets new standards for Brand Growth in Asia

Mumbai: Opptra, an innovative new venture, officially launches today, introducing a game-changing model for consumer brand expansion into Asia. Backed by Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal, who serves as Founder and Chairman, Opptra aims to streamline international growth for brands by combining advanced technology, a shared global supply chain, and specialized franchising businesses with deep category expertise in local markets.

Unlike traditional distribution models that focus on brick-and-mortar retail, Opptra’s franchise businesses will leverage ecommerce and digital-first strategies to accelerate market entry. By offering AI-driven localization, digital brand-building, rapid fulfillment, and data-driven insights, the company aims to reduce entry costs, expand consumer reach, and enable brands to scale faster than ever before.

Opptra has already launched two franchising businesses:

Exporio – Focused on fashion and lifestyle brands expanding to the GCC region

Terraspan – Catering to home and kitchenware brands entering India, the GCC, and Southeast Asia

Additional franchise businesses covering Electronics, Sports, Babycare, and General Merchandise are currently in development, with the ultimate vision of becoming the go-to partner for global brands entering Asian markets.

At the core of Opptra’s model is its cutting-edge technology and supply chain infrastructure, built on Binny Bansal’s experience scaling Flipkart. The company will integrate robotics, automation, and smart logistics to power brand growth and optimize operations across multiple markets.

Opptra has assembled a team of top industry veterans to lead its expansion, including:

  • Ranjit Babu, CEO of Electronics & General Merchandise (Ex-Nokia, Apple, Amazon India)
  • Giridhar Yasa, Chief Technology Officer (Ex-Lendingkart, Flipkart)
  • Anand Raj, Head of Supply Chain (Ex-Flipkart, Swiggy)
  • Puneet Khanna, VP & Head of Exporio GCC (Ex-Apparel Group)
  • Rahul Gupta, VP & Head of Terraspan (Ex-Amazon, Upscalio)

With Asia accounting for 70% of global consumer growth, Opptra is set to unlock new opportunities for brands looking to scale in a rapidly digitizing retail environment. The company’s long-term ambition is to take brands beyond Asia and into global markets, reshaping the future of international brand expansion.
