Mumbai: In a landmark move set to redefine digital entertainment in India, Dish TV India Ltd., a content distribution company and direct-to-home (DTH) operator, has launched “FLIQS”—a game-changing digital content segment within its Watcho app. The announcement was made at WAVES 2025, shortly after the successful debut of the Content India 2025 Summit hosted in April.
“FLIQS” is DishTV’s bold foray into building a creator-first digital economy—offering professional content creators a platform to showcase, distribute, and monetize their work without relinquishing control. This innovation is aimed at democratizing OTT content distribution, enabling both Indian and global creators to bring their stories to Indian audiences with unprecedented flexibility and reach.
The Watcho FLIQS platform allows creators to operate almost like independent OTT platforms, offering a diverse mix of exclusive, original, award-winning, and premium content in regional and international languages. From full-length films and web series to snackable short-format content, all offerings are curated within a single app ecosystem. Consumers can access premium titles starting at just ₹9, alongside a wide array of free content.
This launch significantly expands Watcho’s capabilities—from being a content aggregator to becoming a full-fledged digital entertainment destination. In the coming months, the FLIQS content library will further grow to include international titles, regional gems, classic films, and marquee English content dubbed in Hindi—many of which are unavailable on other platforms.
FLIQS comes equipped with a seamless user interface, AI-powered recommendation engine, and multi-screen interactions—ensuring a highly personalized and engaging user experience.
Commenting on the launch, Manoj Dobhal, CEO and Executive Director, Dish TV India Ltd., stated, “With FLIQS, we are taking a big and bold leap towards redefining what an OTT service can be. This isn’t just another content launch—it’s a statement of intent. FLIQS represents a new generation of curated, exclusive digital storytelling that aligns with the evolving consumer demand for distinct, high-value content. While the industry has seen a proliferation of platforms, very few offer something truly differentiated. FLIQS fills that gap by bringing untold stories, original productions, and exclusive titles into a highly personalized, affordable ecosystem.”
He added, “FLIQS supports India’s growing community of independent storytellers by providing a premium platform to showcase their work, reach wider audiences, and unlock monetization opportunities—strengthening Dish TV’s commitment to digital-first creative entrepreneurship. This marks a significant step forward, not just for Dish TV, but for the Indian OTT landscape as a whole.”
Echoing the sentiment, V.K. Gupta, CTO and Business Head, Watcho, said, “FLIQS is our solution to evolving consumer demands for uniqueness, exclusivity, and control over their entertainment. It’s not just an add-on, but a transformational layer within Watcho, offering a smarter, more relevant experience. With FLIQS, Watcho strengthens its position in the OTT market, marking the start of a larger content evolution.”
As India’s digital content economy continues to scale new heights, FLIQS underscores DishTV’s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and empowering creative entrepreneurship—playing a vital role in shaping the next phase of India’s digital media revolution.
