New Delhi: In a milestone collaboration that exemplifies the transformative potential of digital innovation, IndiaDotcom Digital Private Limited (IDPL) — the digital arm of the ZMCL group and one of India’s largest digital news publishers — has successfully onboarded over 400,000 users within just 20 days through the implementation of Google One Tap Sign-In across its expansive network of websites.

This achievement is now the focus of a joint case study by Google and IDPL, positioning the integration as a model for large-scale user onboarding in India’s digital publishing landscape. The partnership aimed to streamline authentication, reduce access barriers, and enhance personalization — combining IDPL’s rich content ecosystem with Google’s seamless sign-in experience.

A First-of-its-Kind Rollout in Indian Publishing
Representing one of the most extensive deployments of Google One Tap in India’s digital media space, the rollout covered 27 English and Hindi websites and 8 regional language platforms. The implementation was closely coordinated between Google’s product team and IDPL’s digital strategy division, with a strong emphasis on user privacy, accessibility, and platform-wide performance impact.

“This integration has revolutionized the way we connect with our audience by combining scale with simplicity and security,” said Karan Abhishek Singh, CEO, ZMCL. “It not only fuels our rapid growth but also enables deeply personalized content delivery, reflecting our commitment to meaningful, audience-first digital experiences.”

Trust Meets Technology: Insights from the Rollout
According to IDPL’s internal analytics, a commanding 71% of new sign-ups were driven by the group’s news websites, indicating a high user affinity for trusted journalism when delivered with a seamless and secure access experience. The remaining 29% of sign-ups came from IDPL’s infotainment and lifestyle verticals, reflecting the platform’s broad appeal across both information and entertainment content categories.

Beyond user acquisition, the One Tap integration is enabling IDPL to build a robust first-party data ecosystem, positioning it strongly for a future where publishers must rely on identity resolution and contextual targeting in the absence of third-party cookies.
