Mumbai: Pepe Jeans London, one of India’s leading denim and lifestyle brands, has announced the appointment of Rakesh Jallipally as its new Chief Executive Officer in India, effective July 24, 2025. The move signals a strategic shift aimed at accelerating the brand’s growth trajectory in one of its most dynamic markets.
With over 18 years of leadership experience spanning fashion, retail, and consumer tech, Rakesh brings a powerful mix of strategic vision, operational expertise, and market insight to his new role.

Rakesh’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Pepe Jeans as it aims to deepen its relevance among India’s fashion-forward consumers and sharpen its omni-channel presence. The brand continues to focus on driving innovation in product, retail formats, and digital engagement.
Prior to joining Pepe Jeans, Rakesh was Vice President at Flipkart, where he led the successful launch and expansion of “Spoyl”, a fashion platform targeted at Gen Z, and managed the men’s fashion category. His deep understanding of India’s digital-first retail environment and evolving consumer tastes make him well-positioned to steer Pepe Jeans into its next chapter.
Earlier in his career, he played a key role in launching AZORTE at Reliance Retail, and held leadership roles at Arvind Fashions Ltd., where he helped transform brands such as USPA and Flying Machine during his decade-long tenure. He began his journey in retail at Raymond Ltd., overseeing store operations across South India.
Rakesh holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Lucknow, with a specialization in Marketing and Strategy.
