Gurugram: Breaking away from the norm of high-decibel campaigns and anniversary discounts, CARS24, an autotech platform, has celebrated its 10-year milestone with a nationwide road repair initiative. The brand has repaired over 500 potholes and restored more than 7,000 square feet of damaged roads in high-traffic zones across India, targeting accident-prone areas to enhance daily commutes for thousands.
CARS24’s unique celebration stems from a simple insight — for the last decade, roads have carried the brand’s customers, vehicles, and its journey, but have also been plagued by potholes that cause accidents and disrupt lives. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, India recorded an average of 6,880 pothole-related accidents annually between 2013 and 2022, with over 2,000 fatalities in 2022 alone.
“Potholes are more than just an inconvenience. They’re a daily disruption, affecting how people live, drive, and move,” said Gajendra Jangid, Co-Founder, CARS24. “As a brand built on mobility, we’ve always been on the road. This was our way of giving back to it.”
As part of the initiative, CARS24 installed witty and thought-provoking road signs across cities, such as “Don’t drink and drive. Someone is waiting at home.” and “Drive slow, this is not GTA.” The understated yet impactful approach has been lauded on LinkedIn, Instagram, and within advertising circles as a case of “action over optics,” focusing on tangible results over slogans.
Gajendra added, “We’ve always said we’re here to build trust in mobility. But trust doesn’t come from telling people, it comes from doing the right thing.”
The pothole repair drive will continue as part of CARS24’s ongoing ‘Crashfree India’ program, evolving into a larger effort to improve mobility infrastructure nationwide. The initiative aligns with the company’s vision of “Better Drives, Better Lives” and its mission to enhance the everyday experience of mobility in India.
