New Delhi: WinZO, India’s largest interactive entertainment platform with 250 million users, has announced an exclusive partnership with Balaji Telefilms to build India’s first transmedia universe—an integrated ecosystem where stories, games, characters, and audio experiences coexist across formats. The collaboration comes as WinZO’s microdrama platform, ZO TV, surpasses 500 titles within just three months, marking one of the fastest content expansions in the global short-format entertainment category.
WinZO is reshaping storytelling for the mobile-first world by fusing 2-minute games, 2-minute microdramas, and audio stories into a unified entertainment experience. With Balaji Telefilms onboard, the initiative brings together cinematic storytelling with the technological and interactive strengths of India’s leading entertainment platform.
The rapid scale-up positions India as a rising force in the USD 26 billion global short-drama industry, which is expected to grow from USD 12 billion in 2025 to USD 26 billion by 2030. WinZO’s expansion builds on its legacy of publishing 100+ games, empowering a community of 75,000 creators, and serving audiences across India, the US, and Brazil. The platform has already crossed over 100 million episodes viewed, signalling a new entertainment era where creativity intersects with technology and culture.

“We’re building the world’s first transmedia platform from India, where games, stories, and other digital experiences coexist. To do that, we’re partnering and investing to bring the entire creative ecosystem together,” said Paavan Nanda, Co-founder, WinZO. “Microdramas are the next global frontier. Our strategic partnership with Balaji brings together the best storytellers and the best technology to create real, relatable stories that resonate with India and the world. We are excited to bring stories through this partnership to our over 250 million registered user base.”
Balaji Telefilms, a pioneer in shaping Indian television and streaming entertainment, will produce high-quality microdramas with cinematic depth for both Indian and global audiences.
Ekta Kapoor, Joint Managing Director, Balaji Telefilms Ltd, said, “Balaji has always believed that storytelling must evolve with the times. From television to digital and now to micro dramas, our journey has been driven by innovation and the desire to connect deeply with audiences everywhere. Through this collaboration with WinZO we’re creating micro dramas that reflect India’s evolving digital culture.”

Nitin Burman, CRO, Balaji Telefilms Ltd, added, “Audiences today are consuming content in shorter bursts but still crave emotion, drama, and connection, the very pillars of Balaji’s storytelling. This partnership with WinZO is a powerful convergence of creativity and technology, where technology enhances reach and storytelling becomes more interactive, and engaging than ever before.”
As part of its long-term vision, WinZO is investing heavily in nurturing the next generation of Indian creators. The company is conducting workshops, creator accelerators, and industry collaborations at major forums such as Waves Film Bazaar and the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. These initiatives aim to empower emerging storytellers to craft India’s first global transmedia franchises.
