New Delhi: Mastercard has announced the launch of its latest campaign, ‘Tap Your Phone, Pay in Style’, aimed at encouraging consumers across India to embrace the convenience and confidence of mobile contactless payments. Designed to highlight how a simple tap can make everyday transactions seamless, the campaign underscores the blend of speed, security, and style that defines Tap & Go technology.
The campaign centers on the lifestyle appeal of hassle-free payments, showcasing how mobile contactless transactions fit naturally into the routines of India’s growing digital-first population.
Fronted by rising stars Ishaan Khatter—whose Bollywood film Homebound is India’s official entry for the 98th Academy Awards—and Krithi Shetty from Tollywood, the initiative brings to life five cinematic films. Each film captures the pulse of modern India, turning everyday payment moments into reflections of identity, confidence, and ease.
Rolling out across five phases, the campaign starts with teasers on digital and social platforms, followed by the release of the main films and weekly content bursts designed to build sustained engagement. Creators across finance, fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment will share their personal ‘tap moments’ through Instagram Reels, Stories, and YouTube Shorts. Interactive challenges, quizzes, and user-generated content will further drive participation, embedding Tap & Go into the habits of Gen Z and millennial consumers.
To support adoption, Mastercard is partnering with issuing banks, merchant ecosystems, and retail partners nationwide. The company emphasized that mobile contactless payments deliver unmatched convenience by merging speed, security, and simplicity—empowering consumers to “tap without a second thought.”
As part of on-ground activation, Mastercard will introduce ‘Tap Zones’ at popular restaurants, cafés, and retail hotspots, enabling consumers to experience mobile contactless payments firsthand.

“Indian consumers today don’t just use technology—they expect it to enhance and integrate seamlessly into their daily lives. Mobile contactless payments meet this expectation by being secure, efficient, and in tune with the personal style and lifestyle choices of the digital-first generation,” said Lavani Agarwal, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, South Asia, Mastercard.
The creative direction for the campaign is led by McCann Worldgroup India.
“Our idea was to transform a simple tap into a moment of self-expression—capturing the mood of modern India where payments are personal, not mundane,” said Prasoon Joshi, CEO & CCO, McCann Worldgroup India.
With its fusion of music, movement, and modernity, Mastercard’s ‘Tap Your Phone, Pay in Style’ celebrates a lifestyle where technology elevates everyday experiences—making payments not just effortless, but expressive.
