Mumbai: KidZ has announced a major expansion of its kids’ entertainment portfolio with the launch of its first two original animated series — Chote Tara ka Bada Gadar and FAB 5 — alongside a strategic experiential partnership with Hamleys’ Wonderland. The move marks a significant step in building a culturally rooted, premium content universe for children and family audiences.
Developed to bring together Indian storytelling, imagination and values in contemporary formats, the new titles are designed specifically for young viewers. Chote Tara ka Bada Gadar is set to premiere on 24th December on KidZ, while FAB 5 will be released soon on the platform. With this entry into the kids’ segment, ZEE5 aims to create a vibrant universe of Indian stories that spark imagination and deliver meaningful entertainment, sitting alongside popular titles such as Chhota Bheem and select international IPs.
KidZ positions itself as a destination where safe meets fun, offering age-appropriate, parent-approved content that allows children to watch freely while giving parents the reassurance of trusted programming.
Chote Tara ka Bada Gadar transports viewers to Himmatpur, a village where folktales, mythical creatures and unexpected villains collide with everyday life. At the heart of the story is Chote Tara, a fearless ten-year-old whose courage drives explosive action, hidden secrets and a mysterious underground world linked to ancient Indian legends.
FAB 5 follows 10-year-old Anand, who discovers he can merge with his four magical toy friends — Rikki the mighty rhino, Mayur the elegant peacock, Mimmi the speedy deer and Mitthu the sharp parrot — each possessing unique powers and personalities. Together, the group must protect their family amusement park and a hidden mystical realm from growing dark forces.
Both series feature vibrant, high-energy title tracks designed to instantly engage young audiences and build anticipation around their launch.

Chandan Khandelwal, Business Head – Kids Division, ZEE5 India & Global, said, “With KidZ, we’re creating a safe, joyful space where children can explore stories rooted in Indian culture, stories that spark imagination, celebrate values, and deliver fun with meaning. Through originals like Chote Tara ka Bada Gadar and FAB 5, we’re blending entertainment and edutainment with purpose, offering kids engaging, values-driven narratives that teach without preaching. Alongside these, they’ll find beloved favourites like Chhota Bheem and global hits they already love. Our goal is simple: to delight children and give parents the confidence that their kids are watching content that uplifts, inspires, and brings Indian stories to the forefront, whether in India or anywhere in the world. For me, this is deeply personal. As a parent, I’m building something I’d be proud to enjoy with my own child.”
Extending the storytelling beyond the screen, KidZ has also entered into a real-world experiential collaboration with Hamleys’ Wonderland. As part of the partnership, an exclusive KidZ Experience Zone will run from 20th to 31st December, offering children interactive games, hands-on activities and opportunities to win KidZ merchandise, creating ten days of immersive engagement.
Looking ahead to the new year and the reopening of schools, KidZ plans to further deepen its reach through a dedicated school contact programme across key cities, engaging directly with children through interactive and educational formats.
