Mumbai: Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited (RSBVL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has acquired a 50.1% equity stake in Sikhya Entertainment Private Limited (SEPL), one of India’s most globally acclaimed production houses. The transaction, completed on February 3, 2026, involves a combination of primary and secondary investments for an aggregate cash consideration of ₹150 crore.
The acquisition marks a strategic move by Jio Studios, the media and content arm of RIL, to deepen its content play and further consolidate its position as a leading force in India’s rapidly evolving media and entertainment ecosystem.
Over the years, Jio Studios has emerged as a key enabler of large-scale, culturally resonant storytelling, producing landmark titles such as the highest-grossing Indian film Dhurandhar, Laapataa Ladies, and the Stree franchise. Its focus on identifying defining stories and building enduring intellectual property has helped connect Indian narratives with audiences worldwide.
The partnership with Sikhya Entertainment brings together Jio Studios’ scale, distribution strength, and long-term vision with Sikhya’s globally recognised, creator-led storytelling. The collaboration will focus on co-creating films and series for audiences in India and international markets, reinforcing a shared ambition to take Indian stories to the world.
