New Delhi: Vineet Jain, Managing Director of India’s largest media group, Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd – The Times Group – was honoured with the “Lifetime Contribution to Media” award at the All India Management Association’s (AIMA) 70th Foundation Day and 20th National Management Day in New Delhi. The award was presented by Union Cabinet Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan.
The 16th Managing India Awards 2026, themed ‘Transforming for Tomorrow: Growth with Resilience’, recognised Jain’s transformative leadership in expanding The Times Group into India’s largest diversified multimedia enterprise.
Accepting the honour, Jain said, “It is a huge honour to receive this award. I dedicate it to my colleagues who have worked tirelessly to make The Times Group, India’s largest multi media company.”
Presenting the citation, AIMA described Vineet Jain as a future-ready leader and agile entrepreneur who transformed a legacy newspaper business into a diversified media powerhouse. The association highlighted his role in revitalising and modernising the Group’s print foundations while strategically expanding into emerging media technologies and markets from the late 1980s onward.
“He did not just grow a newspaper company; he built a multifaceted media empire that dominates information and entertainment in India and shapes the nation’s political and commercial awareness. From television and radio to internet, movies, music, sports, events, outdoor advertising, education and investments, his leadership has created influential brands across every platform,” AIMA stated.
Under Jain’s leadership, brands in non-print media such as Times Now, ET Now and Zoom have strengthened the Group’s television footprint, alongside their digital extensions. Platforms including Radio Mirchi, Gaana, Times OOH, Times Music and Magicbricks have emerged as category leaders.
Legacy publications such as Femina and Filmfare have continued to expand their cultural footprint. The Group has also diversified into higher education and skill development through Bennett University and TimesPro, reflecting Jain’s vision of integrating knowledge with enterprise.
AIMA further acknowledged Jain’s ability to balance mass entertainment with intellectual engagement, citing the reinvention of the Filmfare Awards and the Femina Miss India pageant, as well as the launch of the Times Litfest, as examples of cultural leadership.
Reiterating his gratitude to AIMA and the dignitaries present, Vineet Jain underscored the Group’s continued focus on growth, resilience and innovation in a rapidly evolving media landscape. “The Times Group is number one in every media vertical it has launched, and we will continue striving for excellence,” he said.
