Mumbai: WPP has appointed Satish Nair as the new CEO of WPP Production India, succeeding Karthik Nagarajan, who is moving on to pursue new opportunities.
The appointment was announced by Mark Wong, APAC CEO, WPP Production, in an internal communication to employees.
Nair brings 25 years of industry experience to the role, including 15 years with WPP Production (formerly Hogarth), where he has held leadership positions across the UK, global and Indian markets. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in scaling production capabilities, driving business transformation, and managing strategic client relationships.
During his earlier stint with the organisation, Nair helped establish operational frameworks that supported the company’s growth while leading major global client partnerships, including The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), Ford and Diageo. Most recently, he served as Global Chief Growth Officer in London before returning to India as Chief Client Officer for APAC, where he focused on driving growth and strengthening client management across the region.
Announcing the leadership transition, Wong said that Nair’s extensive experience across global markets and deep understanding of WPP Production’s business make him well-positioned to lead the India operations into its next phase of growth.
The appointment follows the departure of Karthik Nagarajan, who has led the India business since 2023 after serving as CEO of Hogarth India. Nagarajan, who earlier joined GroupM as Chief Content Officer for Wavemaker India, is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
In his message to employees, Wong thanked Nagarajan for his contributions, noting his role in strengthening the company’s production capabilities, strategy and client relationships during his tenure.
WPP has expressed its appreciation to Nagarajan for his leadership while welcoming Nair to his new role at the helm of WPP Production India.
