New Delhi: Adobe has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with generative video company Runway to power the next generation of AI-driven video creation for creators, studios, media companies, brands and enterprises.
The collaboration brings together Runway’s advanced video generation models with Adobe’s industry-leading creative ecosystem, enabling more powerful, flexible and professional AI video workflows. As part of the agreement, Adobe will become Runway’s preferred API creativity partner, offering creators early access to Runway’s latest video models — beginning with the newly launched Gen-4.5 — now available for a limited time exclusively within Adobe Firefly, Adobe’s all-in-one creative AI platform.
The partnership will also see Adobe and Runway co-develop specialised AI video capabilities designed specifically for professional workflows. These innovations will be made available exclusively within Adobe applications, starting with Adobe Firefly, and extending across Creative Cloud tools such as Premiere Pro and After Effects.

“As AI transforms video production, pros are turning to Adobe’s creative ecosystem – from Firefly to Premiere to After Effects – to imagine, craft and scale their stories across every screen,” said Ely Greenfield, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, Digital Media, Adobe. “Runway’s generative video innovation combined with Adobe’s trusted pro workflows will help creators and brands expand their creative potential and meet the growing demands of modern content and media production.”
Runway’s Gen-4.5 model introduces significant advancements in motion quality, prompt adherence and visual fidelity, enabling creators to generate dynamic, multi-element scenes with strong temporal consistency. Within Firefly, creators can generate video from text prompts, experiment with pacing and visual direction, and then seamlessly assemble and refine content using Adobe’s professional video editing tools.

“We’re building AI tools that are redefining creativity, storytelling and entertainment, with Gen-4.5 as the latest example,” said Cristóbal Valenzuela, Co-founder and CEO, Runway. “This partnership puts our latest generative video technology in front of more storytellers, inside Adobe’s creative tools that are already the industry standard for many creators around the world.”
Adobe Firefly will continue to offer creators the flexibility to work across multiple generative AI models, including Adobe’s commercially safe Firefly models and partner models from Runway and other leading AI companies. Adobe reiterated its creator-first approach to AI, emphasising that content generated using Firefly is not used to train generative models.
By combining Runway’s cutting-edge generative video technology with Adobe’s trusted creative workflows, the partnership aims to make AI video a dependable, scalable and integral part of professional content creation across entertainment, advertising, media and enterprise use cases.
