Mumbai: Alchemist Marketing Solutions Group, an Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) groups and a dominant player in real estate communications, has announced the strategic acquisition of iconic advertising agency Triton Communications. The move marks a significant milestone in Alchemist’s growth journey as it diversifies beyond its core sectors into a broader range of consumer and corporate categories.
Founded in 1991 by industry veterans Ali Merchant and Munawar Syed, Triton Communications has been a cornerstone of India’s independent agency era for over three decades. The agency is known for building some of the country’s most enduring brands, with a client roster that has included Eureka Forbes (Aquaguard), Vicco, Fortune (Adani Wilmar), Wagh Bakri, UB Group, Mother’s Recipe, Paras (Moov, SetWet), Yes Bank, and Gujarat and Karnataka Tourism, among many others. Campaigns such as Aquaguard – “Paani ka Doctor”, Moov – “Aah se Aaha Tak”, and SetWet – “Very Very Sexy” remain etched in Indian advertising history.
With this acquisition, Alchemist plans to revive and reposition the Triton brand as a full-service IMC agency catering to FMCG, services, durables, D2C, new-age sectors, and corporate brands. The Triton brand will operate under the Alchemist umbrella while benefiting from the group’s integrated, strategy-led capabilities, scale, and infrastructure.

Commenting on the acquisition, Manish Porwal, Group Managing Director, Alchemist Marketing Solutions, said, “Triton is not just an agency; it is an institution that Ali and Munawar built with distinct passion. While Alchemist has undisputed leadership in the real estate and health domain over the last 15 years, our ambition has been to replicate that success across a broader spectrum. With Triton, we are looking forward to injecting new energy into the brand, while taking forward the DNA so unique to Triton. We are not just acquiring a name; we are revitalizing a legacy.”

Rajkumar Remalli, Director, Alchemist Marketing Solutions, added, “This acquisition allows us to inherit a rich legacy of brand building and upgrade it with Alchemist’s agile, integrated, and strategy-first machinery. It is about taking that foundational creative soul and powering it with the pace and performance-driven mindset that defines the Alchemist Group today.”
Highlighting the future direction of the brand, Anujita Jain, Director & CEO (Digital), Alchemist Marketing Solutions, said, “We have the distinct advantage of crafting the Triton product as a fresh, new-age offering. The post-pandemic consumer and marketing landscape now require a different level of agility and integration. We will build the ‘new’ Triton to address those evolved needs, ensuring its relevance for the next three decades as it was for the last three.”

Reflecting on the transition, Ali Merchant, Founder, Triton Communications, said, “For over three decades, Triton has been synonymous with building resilient Indian brands. However, the industry has evolved rapidly, and the post-pandemic world demands a new kind of agility and a comprehensive strategic ecosystem to scale further. It was crucial for me to hand over the baton to a group that not only understands the Triton spirit but has the structural strength to future-proof it. In Manish and Alchemist, I see the perfect blend of respect for our past and the hunger to drive our future.”
As part of its plans, Alchemist has also initiated a search for a CEO–Co-Founder to lead Triton as an independent agency under the group’s umbrella. The role is envisioned as an entrepreneurial leadership position, combining start-up autonomy with the backing of Alchemist’s resources, stability, and ambition.
