Mumbai: As 2024 draws to a close, Amazon Music India celebrates the year’s musical highlights with its Best of 2024 campaign, spotlighting the top tracks, artists, and podcasts that captured the hearts of listeners. From emerging chart-toppers to fan favorites, this year’s retrospective is a tribute to the diverse and dynamic music landscape in India.

Karan Aujla’s Tauba Tauba from Bad Newz takes the crown as the most-played song of the year, while Sajni from Laapata Ladies by Ram Sampath, Arijit Singh, and Prashant Pandey stands out as the most-streamed Hindi track. Hindi music remained dominant, with over 42% of Amazon Music India listeners tuning in to the genre.

On the Punjabi front, Diljit Dosanjh emerged as the most-streamed artist of 2024, with his collaboration on Naina from Crew (featuring Badshah and Raj Ranjodh) taking the lead in the Punjabi music category, which saw 61% engagement. Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter dominated the international scene with her hit single Espresso, clinching both top international song and artist accolades.

In the world of Indian Indie music, Akshath Acharya’s viral hit Nadaaniyan propelled him to the top of the Indian Indie category, while Anuv Jain’s Jo Tum Mere Ho became the most requested song on Alexa for the year. In Indian Pop, Badshah’s Soulmate from Ek Tha Raja solidified his place as a top artist, and in Indian Hip Hop, Hanumankind made waves, emerging as the leading artist of 2024 with his track Big Dawgs featured on multiple playlists.

Regional music also saw massive engagement, with Sai Abhyankkar being named the top Tamil artist and Thaman S emerging as the top Telugu artist, thanks to his compositions for Guntur Kaaram and Devara Part 1.

Podcasts also played a crucial role in shaping this year’s listening experience. Unfiltered by Samdish, Cyrus Says, and The Ranveer Show topped the podcast charts, with Be A Man, Yaar! Season 2 and Immortal India with Amish also making a mark.

Speaking about his success, Anuv Jain shared, “This year has been truly amazing with *Jo Tum Mere Ho* reaching milestones on charts across the country. The love and support from listeners have meant so much to me, and it’s something I’ll always cherish. Huge thanks to Amazon Music for featuring my songs on their playlists—it feels incredibly special to be part of something so significant!”

Akshath Acharya also expressed gratitude, “This has been an exceptional year, with fans receiving *Nadaaniyan* so warmly. Seeing the unprecedented love this song has received is truly gratifying. Thank you to Amazon Music for featuring my song on their Best of 2024 playlist.”

Badshah reflected on his incredible year, saying, “This year has been incredible, marked by the release of my 3rd studio album Ek Tha Raja, which includes tracks like ‘Soulmate,’ ‘God Damn,’ and ‘Daaku’ additionally, my song ‘Naina’ from Crew, all which have achieved multiple milestones on charts. The love and support from my listeners has been truly heartwarming. A huge thank you to the Amazon Music team for their incredible support and for featuring my music on their playlists—it’s great to be included in their Best of 2024 playlist.”

Rishabh Gupta, Head of Amazon Music India, commented, “We’re thrilled to showcase the top-performing tracks and artists on our streaming platform for this year. The impressive listener engagement across diverse genres and languages reinforces our commitment to providing every artist with an opportunity to reach a global audience.”
