Mumbai: India’s most iconic quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), has returned for its 17th season on Sony Entertainment Television, launching with a powerful new theme — ‘Jahaan Akal Hai, Wahaan Akad Hai’ — celebrating intelligence, pride, and everyday brilliance.
At the heart of the campaign lies the freshly coined term ‘Akadmand’ — blending Akal (intelligence) and Akad (pride) — symbolising a nation that wears its smarts with confidence and flair.
From buses, daily commute cabs, and autorickshaws in Delhi and Mumbai to a wave of social media activity, the ‘Akadmand’ movement is spreading nationwide. Commuters encounter quirky name tags like “Akadmand Pooja Was Here”, while influencers adopt the identity online, transforming knowledge into a digital badge of honour.
Hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, this season aims to go beyond quizzing — inspiring a cultural shift where smart is the new swag.
Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 airs Monday to Friday at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and is also available for streaming on SonyLIV.
