Mumbai: BBC World News will have three days of live coverage from Windsor Castle ahead of the Royal Wedding with presenters on location, including Katty Kay over from DC, Babita Sharma and Lucy Hockings. There will be a camera in the crowd outside the castle, catching the mood of the public and international visitors. Programmes will include special films and colour features from across the UK and from the US, including Meghan Markle’s home town of LA, as well as from other locations around the world linked to the couple. On the day, BBC World News will show the BBC’s main Royal Wedding programme of the marriage itself for approximately four hours with live coverage before and after, 03:30pm-09:30pm IST.
BBC World Service will bring live coverage of the day’s celebrations to listeners across the globe, and will also air programmes and documentaries exploring the institution of marriage today from a variety of angles in different countries around the world.
The Queen: Her Commonwealth Story
George Alagiah explores the history of the Queen and the Commonwealth that she has led for over 60 years. Walking in Her Majesty’s footsteps, George discovers how the role of heading up this family of nations progressed, exploring moments of triumph, diplomacy, challenge and political intrigue. Gathering testimony from people who have met The Queen across the years and from experts who have followed her fascinating journey, George builds a picture of how deftly The Queen has played her role as head of the Commonwealth. Her daughter Princess Anne talks about her own experiences of Royal walkabouts and The Queen’s role in a male dominated world.

The Royal Wedding Singalong
With just a week till the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this special 30 minute programme meets the unique choir playing their part in celebrating the Royal Wedding. Inspired by Prince Harry’s work around mental and physical health, ‘Gosp-ability’ is a diverse group of amateur singers made up of people facing mental and physical challenges of their own. The choir have recorded a specially written song to give to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as a wedding gift which they will perform in Windsor ahead of the big day. Presenter Trish Adudu follows their emotional journey and traces the choir’s history from its first steps in Coventry to a place in the spotlight, and hears the incredible personal stories of some of their singers.
The Royal Wedding Singalong will be aired on 12th May at 06:00pm and 13th May at 01:00pm.
