New Delhi: Be., in partnership with Luna, has announced the launch of The Great Sleep Experiment – Volume II, the second edition of its proprietary sleep performance study aimed at strengthening data-backed insights within India’s growing recovery economy.
Positioned as a first-of-its-kind initiative in India’s supplement ecosystem, the study builds on its earlier edition by combining consistent supplementation through Be. ON DND with biometric monitoring via the Luna Ring. The experiment tracks key sleep and recovery indicators such as REM sleep, deep sleep, resting heart rate, oxygen saturation, and overall sleep efficiency.
The first edition established a strong foundation, analysing over 600 hours of sleep data and identifying more than 320 hours of disturbed sleep, while correcting over 240 hours through structured intervention. Volume II expands this framework, offering deeper insights into the relationship between supplementation, sleep quality, and recovery in real-world conditions.
Early findings from the latest edition indicate measurable improvements across parameters, including up to 16% increase in REM sleep, up to 57 minutes gain in deep sleep duration, an average increase of 28 minutes in total sleep time, and a reduction in resting heart rate among top responders.
Commenting on the initiative, Deeksha Rajani, Founder & CEO of Be., said, “The Great Sleep Experiment was created because we believe wellness brands should be accountable for the claims they make. In a category where products are often marketed through testimonials and trends, we wanted to do something fundamentally different, put our formulation into the real world, track the data, and share the results transparently. This experiment is our way of proving that recovery solutions can and should be measurable. For Be., it reflects the kind of brand we are building: one that leads with science, backs its claims with evidence, and raises the standard for what wellness in India should look like.”
Atul Rajani, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Be., added, “Be. ON DND was formulated with a pharmaceutical discipline, using clinically relevant ingredients and dosages designed to support real physiological recovery during sleep. The Great Sleep Experiment exists to validate that work in the real world. By measuring changes in REM sleep, and recovery markers, we can demonstrate the efficacy of the formulation through objective data. For me, this is about proving that when supplements are built with scientific rigour, their impact on the body can be observed, measured, and trusted.”
Amit Khatri, Founder of Luna, said, “As a health technology company, we believe better health decisions start with better data. The Luna Ring is designed to track sleep with a high degree of accuracy, analysing sleep stages alongside key biomarkers such as heart rate variability, resting heart rate, temperature trends, oxygen saturation and movement patterns. That’s what makes The Great Sleep Experiment so compelling for us. It allows us to study how a real-world intervention like supplementation can influence sleep architecture and recovery using objective physiological data, not just perception.”
The continued partnership between Be. and Luna ensures consistency in data capture and analysis, enabling reliable comparisons across study editions. Beyond insights, the initiative underscores a broader industry shift toward measurable outcomes, positioning the experiment as a benchmark for evidence-based wellness innovation in India.
