Mumbai: Birla Opus Paints, part of the Aditya Birla Group’s Grasim Industries, has launched a new festive campaign in Tamil Nadu to mark Pongal, spotlighting its Birla Opus Style Colour Smart range of interior emulsions. The digital film captures the essence of the harvest festival through everyday family traditions, showing how refreshed, vibrant interiors can elevate festive moments and bring loved ones together.
Set in a traditional Tamil household, the film follows a young newlywed couple living in a joint family as they prepare their home for Pongal. As conversations unfold around choosing the right colour palette for their home, the narrative highlights how the Style Colour Smart Interior range enhances the beauty of newly painted spaces. The storyline weaves through familiar festive rituals such as kolam-making and home preparations, subtly showcasing the role of colours in transforming the atmosphere of a home.
The emotional core of the film emerges when the daughter-in-law is reminded of her own family’s Pongal celebrations. In a thoughtful gesture symbolising empathy and togetherness, her husband surprises her by inviting her parents to join the festivities. As both families come together under one roof, the film reinforces the spirit of unity and warmth that defines Pongal. The campaign concludes with a heartfelt message encouraging families ‘to start a new tradition’ this Pongal, celebrating joy, harmony and new beginnings.

Commenting on the campaign, Inderpreet Singh, Head of Marketing, Birla Opus Paints, said, “Pongal is a festival that brings families together and marks new beginnings. With Birla Opus Paints new campaign for the Style Colour Smart Interior range, we wanted to reflect the cultural warmth of Tamil Nadu while showcasing how refreshed interiors can enhance festive celebrations. This film is a tribute to the traditions that make Pongal special, and the role colours play in creating memorable moments.”
The campaign has been released digitally and is being promoted across online platforms, aligning the brand’s offering with regional culture, festive emotion and everyday family moments, while reinforcing Birla Opus Paints’ focus on design-led, culturally relevant storytelling.
