CRED and ACKO Enters Into a Partnership to Provide Motor Insurance Coverage for Members

Two of the leading names in the Fintech industry, ACKO Insurance and CRED, recently announced their partnership. Through this partnership, they agreed to expand the offerings on the CRED Garage platform by launching a motor insurance policy for its users. Existing users of CRED will now be able to buy motor insurance policies, including bike and car insurance policies on CRED Garage. Earlier, CRED tied up with three other insurers: Go Digit General Insurance, Zurich Kotak General, and ICICI Lombard, making ACKO the fourth insurer.

For the unversed, CRED Garage is a platform that helps CRED users keep track of their pending challans, bike Insurance and car insurance renewal date, Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC), and vehicle spendings. This platform was launched a year ago and is beneficial for over 4.4 million CRED members. This alliance is also crucial as this is the first time when CRED Garage will be monetizing by offering a motor insurance policy.

Who is Eligible to Benefit from this Partnership?
The recent partnership aims to expand the insurance offerings on Cred Garage platforms and make motor insurance policies accessible to existing users. This is highly beneficial for those with higher credit scores. This means that CRED members who have a credit score of 750 or more will be eligible to get an ACKO motor insurance policy at a reduced premium. The discount percentage will range between 7.5 to 12.5% and will be highly dependent on the user’s credit score.

Talking about this notable partnership, Varun Dua, the founder of ACKO, said, “We are delighted to offer a rewarding experience to financially prudent customers, encouraging better financial planning. We are thrilled to collaborate with CRED to offer a compelling incentive in the form of reduced motor insurance premiums to those who have demonstrated responsible financial behaviour. ACKO has always focused on making insurance more relevant and transparent for consumers, and with this collaboration, we aim to reinforce the link between trustworthiness and tangible rewards.”

Why is This Partnership Important?
Motor insurance policies constitute 93% of all insurance plans sold on CRED. This data indicates the importance of making motor insurance policies accessible to all. Through this partnership, CRED Garage will become a one-stop solution for CRED members to buy or renew motor insurance policies and raise claims without any hassle.

This alliance is extremely beneficial for those who showcase responsible financial behaviour and have high credit scores. Kunal Shah, the founder of CRED, also talked about this partnership and said: “Trustworthy behaviour needs to be encouraged, celebrated, and rewarded. Our partnership with ACKO does just this, offering members an insurance experience that recognises their financial responsibility. By aligning premiums with credit score and driving behaviour, we’re excited to introduce a model that rewards good habits directly and meaningfully.”
