Mumbai: Dainik Bhaskar Group, India’s largest newspaper group, has further strengthened its leadership presence in the southern market with the appointment of Durga Chakraborty as Corporate Sales Head – South India. The move underscores the organisation’s strategic focus on accelerating growth and deepening regional engagement.
With over two decades of experience across broadcast, print, radio, and digital media in India and the United States, Durga brings a rich blend of domain expertise and proven leadership to DB Corp’s senior management. Her career spans key roles in business development, content strategy, client partnerships, and leading high-performing sales teams.
Prior to joining DB Corp, Durga served as Associate Vice President at Sony Pictures Networks, where she helmed critical verticals including SAB TV, FTA, Kids, and the English Cluster. Her track record in driving revenue growth, expanding regional footprints, and building strong client relationships positions her well to steer DB Corp’s ambitions in South India.

Durga will report to Mayar Penkar, Chief Operating Officer – Corporate Sales, who said: “Durga’s appointment marks a transformative step for DB Corp’s expansion in South India.
