Mumbai: Equirus Securities has announced the appointment of Jim Walker as its Global Economic Advisor, as part of an expanded partnership with Aletheia Capital.
The move is aimed at strengthening Equirus’ global macroeconomic research capabilities for its institutional client base. Aletheia Capital is widely recognised as one of Asia’s largest independent investment advisory firms, and the collaboration is expected to deepen Equirus’ insights into global economic trends.
Dr Walker, currently Chief Economist at Aletheia Capital, brings over three decades of experience. He was previously the Founder of Asianomics Group and served as Chief Economist at CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets, where he gained recognition for his early and independent calls on major global economic turning points.
In his new role, Dr Walker will contribute macroeconomic insights to Equirus’ institutional equities platform, focusing on global economic cycles, capital flows, and geopolitical developments, enabling investors to better interpret macroeconomic shifts.
“We are excited to expand our partnership with Aletheia with this appointment. Dr Walker brings a distinctive and independent perspective on global economic cycles, which will significantly strengthen the depth of our research and client engagement. His insights will be especially valuable in helping our institutional clients interpret macro shifts and position portfolios with greater clarity,” said Vishad Turakhia, CEO, Equirus Securities.
Dr Jim Walker added, “I look forward to working with the equity team at Equirus. Despite the ongoing war in the Middle East, India remains one of the best growth stories globally. The chance to visit more frequently and extend research coverage in different provinces of the country is an exciting opportunity.”
