Femina’s September Issue Recognises “Fab 40” Women for Their Outstanding Contributions
Share Share ShareShare

New Delhi: Femina, India’s leading women’s magazine, in its September issue features the “Fab 40” women who have raised their voices, fought battles, supported communities, and inspired millions. The selection of the Fab 40 aims to motivate women to hold their heads high as they march ahead and pave the way for an equal world.

One of the three women featured on the cover is Rani Rampal, the captain of the Indian women’s hockey team. She was the youngest player to join the team and the one who led the team brilliantly at the Tokyo Olympics. The cover also features Mirabai Chanu, who set a new Olympic record with a successful 115 kg lift in clean and jerk, and Bhavani Devi, the first-ever Indian fencer to have won a match in the Olympics. The three sportswomen talk about their dedication to their sport, their learning curves, and the steps they took while morphing into champions who inspire the nation.

Speaking on the launch of Femina’s September issue, Deepak Lamba, CEO of Worldwide Media said “Femina Fab 40 has been curated to celebrate achievements of iconic Indian women from different walks of life. These are powerful women who have broken the glass ceiling and proven their mettle in their respective fields, and some who have recently brought home global accolades. Fab 40 will encourage the next generation of women to dream bigger and believe in their own power.”

Ambika Muttoo, the Editor in Chief of Femina, said during the launch, “We’re always excited to highlight the achievements of women across fields. That’s why the ‘Fab 40’ is so important to us. We get to applaud women across sports, the media, photography, law, entertainment. Women who uphold human rights, who fight for what they believe in, and who have directly or indirectly inspired a million women in India. This isn’t a ranking. It’s our way of honoring women who stand for excellence.”

The September issue of Femina is a must-read and features women from fields such as art and culture, business, education, media, commerce, fashion, science, and more — women like Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Samantha Akkineni, Smriti Irani, Alia Bhatt, Masaba Gupta, Bhumi Pednekar, Dolly Singh, Prajakta Koli, Nita Ambani, and Faye D’Souza. These are galvanizing stories, and readers will also find stirring tales of women who are titans in their fields. Names include Chiki Sarkar, Rohini Iyer, Justices BV Nagarathna, Bela M Trivedi, Hima Kohli and Indira Banerjee, Avani Lekhara, and many more.

Femina’s September Issue, “Fab 40”, is available on stands for readers to buy.
