Chennai: In a heartening display of civic duty and personal integrity, J. Michael Franklin, Accounts Executive at Fourth Dimension Media Solutions, was felicitated by the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner for an exceptional act of honesty.
On the night of July 12, while crossing Kodambakkam Bridge on a two-wheeler with his friend S. Jude Roberto Carles, Michael discovered an unattended plastic cover lying on the road. Upon inspection, they found it contained ₹1,46,500 in cash. Demonstrating quick thinking and unwavering ethics, the duo immediately took the money to the R4 Pondy Bazaar Police Station, ensuring it was returned to its rightful owner.
In a special ceremony held at the Commissioner’s Office, Michael was presented with a certificate and reward by the Commissioner of Police, who commended the pair for their integrity and swift action.
“Their decision to do the right thing, even when no one was watching, reflects the core values we strive to promote in our society,” said the Commissioner, praising their conduct as a benchmark for responsible citizenship.
Shankar, CEO of Fourth Dimension Media Solutions, also lauded Michael’s actions, “Michael’s action reflects the very ethos we stand for — sincerity, responsibility, and integrity. We are incredibly proud to have him as part of the Fourth Dimension family.”
This incident, though modest in action, serves as a powerful reminder of how honesty and civic consciousness can inspire and uplift an entire community.
