According to Torrent Freak, the most popular international series Game of Thrones has taken the crown for the sixth year in a row, for being the most-pirated TV show through BitTorrent.
The highest number of people actively sharing an episode of the hit HBO original across several torrents was 400,000 at its peak, right after the season finale came online.
The Walking Dead remains in second place this year. The Flash ranks third, up from 2016’s number four spot. The Big Bang Theory moves from sixth to fourth place.
There were plenty of newcomers on 2017’s list as well: Rick and Morty (5), Prison Break (6) and Sherlock (7). The top 10 is rounded out, in consecutive order, by Vikings, Suits and Arrow.
It may be noted that the latest series of Game of Thrones was hit by plenty of controversies like Hacking, Piracy and airing of wrong episode content in certain international markets.
