Bengaluru: The recently enacted Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 has had sweeping consequences for India’s gaming ecosystem, forcing real-money gaming companies, including Gameskraft, to recalibrate their operations. The new legislation has created significant regulatory headwinds, leaving companies like Gameskraft facing immediate and profound challenges.
As part of this restructuring, Gameskraft confirmed it will be letting go of around 120 employees, known internally as “Krafters,” across various teams and functions. The company also indicated that further structural changes may follow as it continues to respond to the evolving environment.
“This has been one of the most difficult decisions in Gameskraft’s journey. Every single Krafter has played a meaningful role in shaping who we are, and we are deeply grateful for their contributions, passion, and belief in our mission. It is with a heavy heart that we part ways with some of our colleagues. While this step is driven entirely by the external environment and the need to adapt to a new reality, it in no way reflects on their talent or dedication. Our respect for our people remains unchanged, and we will try our best to support them as they transition into their next chapters,” stated Prithvi Singh, Founder & CEO, Gameskraft.
True to its people-first approach, the company outlined a comprehensive support package for affected employees, including:
- Medical Insurance Extension: Group health insurance cover will remain valid until March 2026 or until an employee joins a new employer, with the option to convert corporate policies into individual plans. Coverage for dependent parents will also continue.
- Wellness & Support Access: Existing health check-ups and wellness services through the Visit App will be available until May 5, 2026.
- Priority Re-Hiring: Impacted employees will be prioritized for any new roles that emerge as the company pivots.
- Outplacement Support: HR teams and managers will assist with external job opportunities, referrals, and recommendation letters.
Looking forward, Gameskraft emphasized its commitment to building a sustainable and innovation-driven organization. The company noted that while the path ahead requires difficult decisions, its focus remains on transparency and responsible leadership.
