New Delhi: In a significant leadership move, Gaurav Verma has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aaj Tak, India’s leading Hindi news channel. The elevation was approved by the Board of Directors at TV Today Network and will take effect from May 16, 2025. Alongside his new role, Verma has also been designated as one of the Senior Management Personnel of the company.
Verma, who currently serves as COO of Lallantop—a digital-first platform under the TV Today Network umbrella—brings with him over 25 years of experience across some of India’s most prominent media organizations. His leadership journey has been marked by consistent success in driving revenue growth, building high-performance teams, and strengthening brand presence in competitive markets.
Prior to his tenure at Lallantop, Verma served as Chief Revenue Officer at both Times Network and Zee Media, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the organizations’ market reach. He has also been an integral part of TV Today Network earlier in his career, serving as Vice President – Sales and leading revenue efforts for flagship brands including Aaj Tak and Tez.
Verma’s professional journey spans a range of influential media houses, including leadership roles at CNBC TV18, India Today, and Business Standard.
Academically, he holds a commerce degree from Delhi University and a Diploma in Sales & Marketing from NIS. He has also completed an Executive Excellence Program from the Indian School of Business (ISB), equipping him with strategic leadership and operational expertise.
With this elevation, TV Today Network is betting on Verma’s deep industry experience and proven track record to further strengthen Aaj Tak’s leadership in the competitive Indian news broadcasting space.
