Delhi: Ginger Games, a new games studio, has officially launched with support from the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator and a founding team comprising seasoned talent from Yahoo, Zynga, SuperGaming, Activision, and Jio Games. The studio aims to redefine mobile game development with a focus on sustainable IP creation, monetisation, and long-term player engagement.
The founding team brings together over 50 years of combined gaming and media entertainment experience, having led more than $100 million in aggregated monetisation mandates across gaming and non-gaming media. They have also scaled gaming communities from zero to 11.5 million users.
As part of the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator, Ginger Games has benefited from structured mentorship, global insights, and access to technical resources. This ecosystem has helped the team validate its design philosophy while building scalable IP tailored for global audiences.
“After years building successful B2B gaming and media-tech products, we identified a clear whitespace: while mobile gaming is booming, most new titles struggle to sustain both player engagement and monetisation,” says Sumit Batheja, CEO and co-founder, Ginger Games. “Too many studios rely on shallow mechanics and copycat formulas, leading to short-lived success and missed opportunities for lasting IP. We hope to change that. We’re grateful for Krafton’s support as well as Fernanda and Anurag for believing in us and supporting us as our strategic advisors.”
“Welcoming Ginger Games into the KRAFTON India Gaming Incubator is a strong validation of our commitment to onboarding studios of exceptional quality,” says Anuj Sahani, Head of KRAFTON India Incubator Program. “Their vision and approach to solving some of the industry’s toughest challenges exemplify the kind of innovation we want to champion.”
The studio also enjoys backing from Fernanda Romano, former CMO at King and Supercell, and Anurag Khurana, CEO and co-founder of Penta Esports, formerly with Riot Games India and Jio Games.
“India and Brazil share a culture of ingenuity and resilience, and the team’s maturity and drive give me full confidence in what they’re building,” says Fernanda Romano, strategic advisor to Ginger Games.
“In my experience, the age-old saying of betting on people not products rings true,” says Anurag Khurana, CEO and co-founder, Penta Esports and strategic advisor to Ginger Games. “The track record of Ginger Games’ founders was reason enough to support them as a strategic advisor.”
Ginger Games’ debut title, Monkey Mayhem, is currently in beta testing. The game, a rogue-lite auto-battler for Android and iOS, features cartoon-styled characters and a satirical theme. Positioned as the studio’s first scalable IP, the title will soon enter soft launch.
“Our vision is to set a new standard for hybrid-casual games: sticky, scalable, and built to last,” says Shrey Mishra, Co-founder, Ginger Games. “While others focus on scaling what already exists, we are focused on creating what should exist—globally resonant games rooted in a strong core loop and gameplay innovation. Our strategic focus on the roguelite genre—still relatively underexplored in the Indian market—positions us uniquely.”
The studio is also developing a genre-tailored design and operations engine with deep meta-systems and live ops to ensure long-term engagement, alongside monetisation models that balance player satisfaction with sustainable revenue growth.
