Mumbai: B Sridhar, Executive Vice President – Media at Innocean India, has stepped away from his professional media career, marking the end of a journey spanning over 30 years in India’s advertising and communications industry.
Sridhar’s career has been defined by long stints with leading agency networks and sustained client relationships across some of the country’s largest media mandates. Over the years, he held senior roles at agencies including Mudra, GroupM and Initiative, before spending a combined 17 years at Innocean India across two separate tenures.
During his first stint at Innocean, Sridhar led the media mandate for Hyundai, playing a key role in shaping the brand’s media strategy in India. In his subsequent tenure, he oversaw media responsibilities for Kia, supporting the automaker’s market entry and growth phase. His work at Innocean came to be closely associated with managing complex, high-scale automotive accounts.
Beyond automotive, Sridhar’s portfolio includes work on marquee brands such as Samsung, Nestlé, Pepsi Foods and Microsoft, reflecting his breadth of experience across categories. Industry colleagues credit his career for its emphasis on stability, trust-led client partnerships and hands-on involvement in large-scale media planning and buying operations.
With his exit from corporate life, Sridhar is now turning his attention toward personal pursuits. A long-time Business Quiz Master at multiple forums, he plans to dedicate more time to quizzing engagements. He is also preparing to explore motivational speaking, drawing inspiration from his experience as a long-distance runner to address themes of discipline, endurance and management.
His departure marks the close of a significant chapter in India’s media agency ecosystem, particularly in an era shaped by long-standing client-agency relationships and legacy media leadership.
