Mumbai: JioStar has taken decisive anti-piracy action against an unauthorised cable operator, M/s Goldy Diginet Private Limited, which was unlawfully retransmitting JioStar’s content to approximately 4,000 subscribers in the region.
Based on the complaint filed by Jiostar for piracy by the Network, An FIR (No. 0295/2025) was registered on November 3, 2025, at Kotwal Police Station, Banswara, under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and Sections 37, 51, 63 & 65-A of the Copyright Act (Amended), 1957.
Post FIR, the police also carried out a raid on November 6, 2025, at the operator’s control room, seizing pirating equipment’ including IRDs, transmitters, and other materials used in the unauthorized distribution of content. The illegal transmission has now been completely stopped.
This action underscores JioStar’s continued efforts to curb content piracy and safeguard the interests of its subscribers and partners.
