Mumbai: JioStar has promoted Kishan Kumar as Executive Vice President – Malayalam, marking a significant step in strengthening its regional leadership. Kumar previously served as Business Head – TV & Digital, Malayalam Cluster, where he played a pivotal role in driving growth across the network’s Malayalam portfolio.
In his earlier role, Kishan spearheaded programming and operational strategy for the Malayalam cluster, with a focus on accelerating performance across both linear and digital platforms. His mandate included overseeing people management, financial outcomes, and strategic planning — all aimed at reinforcing JioStar’s competitive edge in a rapidly evolving media ecosystem. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening the brand’s visibility and impact within the Malayalam market.
Kishan brings over 21 years of experience across media, marketing, and advertising. Before joining JioStar, he held leadership and strategic roles at Disney Star, Wavemaker India, Maxus Global, and Vasudhara Dairy. His longest tenure was with Maxus Global, where he spent more than 13 years honing his expertise across relationship marketing, media research, market planning, ad networks, integrated marketing, and advertising sales.
Kishan’s diverse background and deep understanding of regional markets are expected to further accelerate JioStar’s growth trajectory in the Malayalam entertainment space.
