Mumbai: JioStar has unveiled its Kannada-language film for the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 campaign, Ghus Kar Maarenge, featuring cricketer KL Rahul in the lead role. Part of a larger series of regional and national films, the campaign builds anticipation for PKL Season 12, which kicks off on August 29, 2025, live and exclusive on JioHotstar and Star Sports Network.
Conceptualized by creative agency ZeroFifty, the film is set on a narrow country road in Karnataka, where Rahul, riding with friends, encounters a ferocious bull blocking their path. While his friends deliberate on how to move the bull, Rahul cautions them against confronting it, remarking wryly that this isn’t just any bull, but a “Bengaluru Bull”—one that only charges in and smashes through.
“The campaign underscores the aggression and thrill quotient that fans can expect this season. With refreshing changes coming in, we had to depict how it will influence the approach of players,” said a JioStar Spokesperson. “KL Rahul was the perfect match to bring that out with his subtlety and inimitable demeanour. His personality and connection with fans make him the ideal face for this iteration of the campaign.”
Speaking about his association with the campaign, KL Rahul said, “Kabaddi is a sport where every moment counts, and every move demands intent. The aggression, the pace, and the raw energy on the mat are what make it so thrilling—not just for players, but for everyone watching. I’ve always admired the fearlessness and commitment kabaddi players bring to every raid and tackle. It’s a game that resonates with me because it’s about backing yourself completely, no matter the challenge in front of you.”
PKL Season 12 will open with a southern derby clash between Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas, setting the stage for an action-packed season. Fans can catch every raid, tackle, and block on JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network.
