Mumbai: In a landmark moment for the Indian PR and communications industry, Ameer Ismail, President of Lintas Live, has announced his decision to step down after an illustrious 28-year career with MullenLowe Lintas Group. A trailblazer in the field, Ameer’s name has been synonymous with Lintas Live’s transformation from a traditional PR outfit (formerly LinOpinion) into one of the country’s most dynamic and digital-first communications agencies.
Under Ameer’s visionary leadership, Lintas Live evolved into a future-ready, creative PR powerhouse—renowned for its integrated campaigns, cutting-edge digital strategies, influencer programs, and crisis management solutions. His counsel has been sought after by marquee global brands including TATA Starbucks, Etihad Airways, Hyatt, Valvoline, Visit Victoria, Budweiser, Texas Instruments, and Sony Pictures Networks India, among many others.
“I’ve had a dream run at Lintas—benefiting from rich learnings across disciplines and functions. The future of PR and communications is immensely exciting, and emerging technologies like AI will offer an entirely new canvas of opportunities. My next move will embrace these possibilities and build on the experience I’ve gained along the way,” said Ameer Ismail.
Ameer’s journey with Lintas began in 1996. Over nearly three decades, he has held various leadership roles across the group, including heading dCell, Advent, and Lintertainment, and was a part of the Lowe Lintas management committee since 2008. He played a pivotal role in establishing a joint venture with Golin, earning a seat on the Golin Global Leadership Group in 2014. In 2018, he was also appointed Chief Growth Officer at PointNine Lintas, while continuing his presidency at Lintas Live.
Ameer has been widely recognized for his contributions to the industry. He has provided strategic counsel to over 500 brands and leaders, served on prestigious juries and advisory boards such as Fulcrum, SABRE, and the Abby Awards, and was honored with the CMO Asia Award for Outstanding Contribution to Corporate Communications in 2011. He has regularly featured on reputed industry power lists including Reputation Today’s Top 10 PR Leaders and exchange4media’s Top 100 Influential Game Changers.
His departure comes at a time when Lintas Live boasts a strong client base and a capable leadership team—many of whom were mentored by Ameer himself. He will work closely with the MullenLowe Lintas leadership in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
Ameer is also well-known for his dedication to mentoring the next generation of communication professionals. He lectures at institutions such as Symbiosis, Xavier Institute of Communications, Atlas Skilltech University, Northpoint Centre of Learning, and Scranton University (USA). He is a member of the SCORE advisory council.
