Mumbai : Mahindra & Mahindra, under its Kaabil Initiative, in partnership with Centum Foundation, has unveiled a film highlighting the transformative journeys of women beneficiaries across India. Conceptualised by upGrad Enterprise’s Marketing team, the film showcases how skill-based training empowers women to achieve financial independence and meaningful careers.
Skill Development Driving Real Impact
The short AV brings to life authentic first-person narratives from women across 19 states, reflecting resilience, dignity, and the generational impact of education and skill development. The Kaabil Initiative – a CSR effort focused on employability and industry-aligned skill development – has successfully trained over 20,000 women across 250+ locations, with 9,000+ women placed in professional roles in sectors such as automotive, retail, and customer service.

Pooja Nanda, Head of Women’s Empowerment, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “Kaabil, a flagship CSR initiative of the Mahindra Group, is committed to empowering 1 million women by 2027 by bridging the gap between education and employment through skilling. Our partnership with Centum Foundation has enabled us to deepen our impact, scale with credibility, and deliver relevant skilling programs that foster sustained livelihoods and financial autonomy. Through domain skilling and employability enhancement training, Centum has empowered over 20,000 women across 250+ locations in 19 states, with more than 9,000 already placed in meaningful employment. Together, we are unlocking the full potential of India’s workforce and building a stronger, more inclusive economy.”
Sunita Mohanty, Revenue Head – upGrad Enterprise, added, “This film is close to our hearts – and is surely a wake-up call. As urban bystanders, we often watch Bharat’s growth story from afar, but seeing these women’s journeys up close has been truly humbling. They’re not just statistics for us – they’re stories of courage, learning, and transformation. Through this campaign, we wanted to challenge the long-held perception that ambition thrives only in urban India, because these women are as driven, resilient, and future-ready as any of us. To support Mahindra Group as a partner in bringing these stories to life has truly been an honour and a reminder of what purpose-led storytelling can achieve.”
