Bengaluru: MK Machaiah (Mac) has been assigned the task of leading the bespoke unit of Wavemaker that serves ITC India in addition to the role of President – Special Initiatives.
As Head of ITC India Business, Mac Machaiah will be responsible for the entire SBU Operations in Wavemaker that is dedicated towards its largest client. He takes over the assignment held by SanchayeetaVerma, ever since winning the client’s account.
Market sources reveal that Sanchayeeta had taken a sabbatical due to personal reasons. The same resulted in Mac being assigned with the high-profile task. He took over the new assignment effective from 25th April 2020.
Wavemaker’s SBU units for ITC India are servicing 6 different businesses of the client across four locations in Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi.
Prior to this Mac Machaiah was the Chief Innovation Officer – South Asia in Mindshare, where he was handling the mandate for setting up Innovations Lab through systemic integrations of Content+, Social and Activations and building sports practice.
Mac Machaiah is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of industry experience. He became an integral part of the India leadership team of GroupM’s Mindshare in 2012 as Office Head – South.
He then moved to international profile as Chief Executive Officer – SSA to lead Mindshare Sub-Saharan Africa region where he was entrusted with the responsibility to set up Mindshare and consolidate Unilever’s business across Sub Saharan Africa and drive global best practice for Unilever in the region.
Machaiah is likely to operate from Bengaluru.
