New Delhi: Motorola Mobility India has announced the appointment of Ipshita Chowdhury as Marketing Head, India, as part of a broader leadership transition aimed at strengthening both domestic growth and regional alignment across Asia Pacific.

Ipshita succeeds Gagandeep Bedi, who has been elevated to the role of Asia Pacific Marketing Strategy and Operations Lead. Both Ipshita Chowdhury and Gagandeep Bedi will report to Shivam Ranjan, Head of Marketing, Motorola Asia Pacific.

The announcement comes at a time when Motorola India has recorded the highest industry growth of 52.4% in Q3FY25 and captured an 8.3% market share, reinforcing its strong brand momentum in the competitive smartphone market.

This leadership transition marks a strategic step in sustaining the company’s growth trajectory in India while deepening cross-market collaboration within the Asia Pacific region.

Ipshita Chowdhury brings over two decades of marketing leadership experience across telecom, automobile and FMCG sectors. Over the course of her career, she has held senior roles at Nokia, Microsoft, Philips Lighting, and Valvoline Cummins. She has led integrated brand building initiatives, category development strategies and high-impact marketing campaigns, and is recognised within the Indian marketing ecosystem for her contributions to industry forums.

In his previous role as India Marketing Head, Gagandeep Bedi played a key role in driving brand growth and expanding Motorola’s premium portfolio. Under his leadership, the company strengthened consumer engagement and reinforced its positioning across segments. In his new regional mandate, he will collaborate with Asia Pacific leadership and country marketing heads to shape regional strategy, drive operational excellence and unlock growth opportunities across established and emerging markets.

Commenting on the development, Shivam Ranjan, Marketing Head, Asia Pacific, Motorola, said, “India remains a critical growth market for us. Gagandeep has played a significant role in strengthening our brand foundation and driving consistent momentum. His expanded regional mandate will help us build stronger strategic cohesion across Asia Pacific markets. Ipshita brings a sharp consumer understanding and deep cross category experience, which will be valuable as we continue to scale our brand and deepen engagement in India.”

Ipshita Chowdhury, Marketing Head, Motorola India, said, “Motorola is an iconic brand that stands for purposeful innovation and strong technology and design leadership. I am excited to join the team at a time when the brand is witnessing strong growth and momentum in India. I look forward to building meaningful consumer connections and further strengthening Motorola’s growth journey in the ever-evolving market.”

Motorola India has witnessed consistent growth momentum, driven by an expanding product portfolio, premium design differentiation and a strong focus on consumer experience. The brand continues to strengthen its presence across segments, backed by growing consumer preference and deeper market penetration, reinforcing its position as one of the fastest-growing players in India’s smartphone landscape.
