In a strategic move to solidify its vision of becoming the “Disney from the East,” Mythik, a tech-first global entertainment company, has announced the appointment of three seasoned industry leaders to spearhead its product and technology divisions. The company named Sachin Thapliyal as Founding Member & Chief Product Officer, Kamalmeet Singh as Chief Technology Officer, and Nitin Pakhare as Head of Product Design.
With over two decades of experience each, the trio brings a deep well of expertise in building and scaling consumer-tech platforms across the entertainment spectrum, including video, audio, and news. Collectively, they have played pivotal roles in developing platforms with user bases exceeding 100 million Monthly Active Users (MAUs). In their new roles, they will lead Mythik’s efforts to integrate cutting-edge technology with creative storytelling, delivering immersive experiences rooted in Eastern mythology, history, and folktales to audiences around the globe.
Sachin Thapliyal joins Mythik as Founding Member & Chief Product Officer. He previously served as Head of Product at JioSaavn, where he scaled the platform to over 100 million MAUs and developed Jio TV+, a hyper-personalised entertainment service aggregating multiple streaming partners. His prior roles include Head of Product at MX Player—now Amazon MX Player—where he helped grow the super-app to 175 million MAUs, and leadership positions at PayU and Paytm, where he drove innovation in digital lending and e-commerce.
Kamalmeet Singh takes on the role of Chief Technology Officer, bringing a wealth of experience in enterprise architecture and AI-driven solutions. He was previously Principal Architect at Walmart, where he led GenAI-based productivity initiatives, and held senior roles at Microsoft and Infosys. An accomplished author in cloud architecture and Java-based solutions, Singh is expected to drive Mythik’s technology strategy and infrastructure at scale.
Nitin Pakhare has been appointed Head of Product Design. He was most recently Design Director at Viacom18’s JioCinema (now JioHotstar), where he led design for core playback and engagement experiences. His previous roles include Head of Product Design at MX Player, where he facilitated seamless design-product collaboration across geographies, and key design roles at Times Internet and Yahoo Labs, where he contributed to building platforms like Times Prime and leading Yahoo’s global redesign for image and video search.
