Bengaluru: New India Abroad, the global media platform serving the 32-million-strong Indian diaspora, has appointed Bhabani Prasad Das as its Chief Business Officer (CBO). A seasoned media leader with nearly two decades of experience in media sales and brand strategy, Das will lead revenue growth initiatives and expand the platform’s digital and branded content footprint.
In his new role, Bhabani will oversee Global Ad Sales across digital, Connected TV (CTV), and branded content, while also steering strategic alliances and intellectual property (IP) development. His appointment comes as New India Abroad strengthens its positioning as a leading voice for Overseas Indians across North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
“Bhabani’s track record in scaling media properties and his deep understanding of the digital ecosystem make him the ideal leader to steer our business operations,” said the leadership team at New India Abroad. “His expertise will be instrumental in connecting global brands with our diverse and affluent diaspora audience.”
Bhabani joins New India Abroad after serving as National Head of Digital Branded Content & IP at Republic Media Network, where he drove a 120% revenue growth through research-led strategies and innovative brand solutions such as the R Digital Round Table and multiple national summits.
Over the course of his career, he has held leadership roles at leading media and technology organisations including Republic Media Network, ABP Digital, and Times Internet Limited, gaining deep expertise in digital monetisation, brand partnerships, and content-led revenue models.
As CBO, Bhabani will focus on monetising New India Abroad’s multi-platform ecosystem, which includes a weekly digital newspaper, daily newsletters, and an expanding portfolio of video and podcast content across English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Gujarati.
“I am thrilled to join New India Abroad and lead the business strategy for a platform that holds such cultural and informational significance for the global Indian community,” said Bhabani Prasad Das. “The diaspora is no longer just a donor or an immigrant group; they are the deciders of the future. My goal is to build a world-class business framework that reflects their influence and provides brands with a trusted, high-engagement bridge to this community.”
